In brief: Following the appointment of Captain and Mrs Enrique Rey to La Coruna on Ascension Day 1971, it was announced on 24 December 1971 that The Salvation Army had been granted the status of a Legal Person, enjoying full legal rights in the country and permitted to carry on its work without let or hindrance.

Countries included the Territory : Canary Islands, and Mallorca (autonomous communities)
