"Independence Day Celebration"

Each year, in September, our country dresses in white, blue and red, , the colors of our flag, to celebrate the Independence Day. In our Corps, we met on Saturday 13th, to celebrate; with our brothers and sisters, old persons, children and adults, we spend a familiar afternoon.

God permitted us to have a sunny day. That afternoon,we began praising the name of God and praying for Him to bless or dear Chile, our rulers and the World.

Each group of church sold something, Home League prepared and sold a typical chilean food “empanadas”, Young League was in charge of “Anticuchos” (little pieces of different kind of meat linked by a stick), children had the games and all the other persons present bought to cooperate with each group and to share with everybody in harmony and in a Christian way.

Young persons and adults participated in different championships, first a race in sacks, where the fastest one won. After a while, we had our national dance, “Cueca”; when music began to sound, championship began. Children and adults danced once and again. Three places were chosen, the winners of this year were a young man and a girl who danced very graciously.

We continued sharing with our brothers and sisters till everything finished, all the things were sold, each group earned some money... and all of us were blessed because it was a very nice time, to laugh and share our Chilean traditional food and a cup of tea.

We thank God for this day He gave us, in which children and adults praised His name and spent a very nice afternoon.

God bless our country and yours too.
