"Chile prays for Chile"

On Thursday September 4th, Evangelical people of Chile united to pray, but not in any place. As it has been the tradition during 11 years, each September, the Month of our country’s independence, evangelical people of Chile meet in the National Congress to intercede for our rulers and authorities. In its first years, this event just took place at the doors of the Congress, but the Lord heard our prayers and now we can go into that place to, in the same room they make decisions, pray for those decisions.

This event began at 7 o’clock, the different denominations of the people of God were present, represented by its pastors and congregations. The Salvation Army was present too, because some brothers and sisters were asked to be ushers and, representing our pastors, Captain José Saavedra, Valparaíso Men’s Home Director, was present.

The program wasn’t very extended, but the power of the Holy Spirit was poured out in the inside of that place, the Word of God was read, traditional hymns of evangelical church were sung, like the Significant “Onward Christian Soldiers”, we could hear a message that blessed our lives and, of course, we prayed for our country and for those who govern it.

Since we were going to pray for our authorities, one representative of them couldn’t be absent. Valparaíso Mayor, Mr. Hernán Pinto Miranda was present in the ceremony and addressed some words of greeting.

We believe God hears our clamor and will bless our country. “I urge, the, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness, and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour,” I Timothy 2:1-3
In the pictures, some moments of this blessed activity.
