The Salvation Army Milton Keynes
THE SALVATION ARMY IN & AROUND MILTON KEYNES
The work of the Salvation Army started in this area in 1886, well before the city was envisaged.   The work of The Salvation Army in the new city began on the Conniburrow estate when the doors were officially opened on 4th December 1982.
Our Mission Statement is ‘Knowing God – making God known’. We regard this as being appropriate today as it was when our founders, William and Catherine Booth, decided to begin their work in the East End of London among the poor and dispossessed. Sadly, that work remains as crucial and as important today as it was so desperately needed back then, even here in Milton Keynes.
The 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2017 for the City of Milton Keynes was  an ideal time to take stock and restate the aim of The Salvation Army in this place where we all live. It is simply, to continue with our innovative ways of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in our community. We will continue to worship God inside and outside of our church on Conniburrow and we will continue to meet people wherever they are, whatever their circumstances and whatever their need.
