Title- Beautiful to God.

Aimed at- Girls in youth.

Scripture- Proverbs 31:25

                1 Peter 3: 3-4

Its mufti day at school and your convinced that Summer’s new, $ 90, Billabong skirt could double as a belt.

Or when you flip open that new magazine and you’re bombarded with images of “pretty” and “beautiful” girls. The accepted image.

Let’s not even mention the beach. 100’s of girls parading around in yellow, teeny weeny polka dot bikinis. (Ok, ok the dots and colour is optional)

As a Christian, do you ever wonder how you are beautiful fully clothed when the world puts out that less is more? Or how you can be beautiful wearing budget jeans, when every one else is wearing the newest, latest threads?

Do you ever wonder what the scriptures have to say about this? READ ON!

In Proverbs 31:25 it says,

“She is clothed in strength and beauty”.

Clothe your self in dignity and strength.

The world stereotypes people, especially those, who wear revealing clothing.

I’m sure you’ve heard all the names and stereotypes under the sun.

Half the time this accusation that is placed on these girls isn’t true.

As a daughter of God, what do you want the world to think of you?

That you may or not be everything that those stereotypes say or that you’re clothed in the strength and dignity that God talks about?

I know what I’d want?

Also it says in 1 Peter 3: 3-4;

“Don’t be concerned with the outward beauty of fancy hair styles, expensive jewellery or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourself, instead, with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God”

Just as this scripture says, don’t worry if you can’t afford that new billabong top, or the $80 style cut or that new necklace.

All that material beauty will break, grow out or fade but the beauty that God looks for is unfading. IT COMES FROM WITHIN.

It is the beauty of a quiet and gentle spirit that God desires.

One day, everything that other girls have worked for to maintain their beauty will disappear but your spirit, strength and dignity remains.

So, next mufti day, when you walk down the hall in your $ 9.95 top from target that covers your belly button, remember that you’re beautiful.

You’re beautiful to the only one that matters, your creator, who looks upon the inside, not out.

You’re beautiful to god!
