Salvation Army Funds Making a Real Difference in South Asia

Major Ian McBride, the Corps Officer at Bangor, writes:

“We the members of Bangor Salvation Army, wanted to do what we could to support our Officers and friends who are ministering in some of the worst affected areas through our churches, community projects, health centres, schools, income generating schemes, support programmes etc.

Our friends and colleagues already knew many of those who were affected, indeed many of our Officers, like the local people have lost everything.

The money we raise will support The Salvation Army’s work as it moves from initial emergency response of food, water and shelter into long term rehabilitation and support”

The public has already been so generous in donating to The Salvation Army’s South Asia Emergency Appeal and for this we say ‘thank you’.

But news coming back from the devastated regions confirms that the needs there are immense and any money that can be spared for emergency and reconstruction work will be gratefully received”
