| The long service of four bandsmen from Bangor was recognised in meetings led by Major Peter Ayling. Derek Hillier, Marshall McKee, Eric McCusker and Fred Wray have achieved between themselves over 100 years of service as bandsmen and were not aware that the Band had arranged for the long service certificates to be presented. B/M Keith Hillier paid tribute to the support given him throughout the years, not to mention the value of their musicianship, humour and Christian fellowship. It was also made clear the contributions made by Eric McCusker and Derek Hillier, both as songster leaders at the corps, Marshall McKee as YP band leader for 25 years and Fred Wray who still holds the position of Corps Treasurer. Major Ayling gave thanks to God for the service of the four bandsmen and urged them to continue to influence those around them in the way they had done through their years of service. 10/03 |
