Doing Church Differently
Residents of The Croft Community, a residential home for adults with learning difficulties, have found a warm welcome at Bangor Corps. The group began to attend Sunday meetings and the relationship was further developed through attendance at Nu Direction, Bangor's Sunday school. The group have their own class where they talk about their week. These personal experiences form the basis of a Bible thought and teaching point followed by prayer.
Beth Wray, one of the leaders of the group, testifies to the ‘tremendous bond of love there is within this special fellowship'. The corps members enjoy this ministry and see potential for further development, feeling privileged that the residents have chosen to worship with them and emphasising that anything they do for The Croft is repaid many times over.
Being part of the community is central to building relationships which enables the fellowship to be a practical example of Christ's love.
