Mission:
The Mission of The Central Taranaki Corps Maori Christian Fellowship is
to network with sister Corps in the Taranaki, that we may embrace the
Maori culture and use it as a tool to Glorify God through evangelism and
outreach within the core values of The Salvation Army.
Intention:
To hold bi-monthly services of celebration and fellowship incorporating
Karakia; korero; kai; katakata; and koha.
Wananga – learning the culture under Christian Kaupapa.
Vision:
That in 3 years
time the Maori Christian Fellowship will be a vibrant extension of The
Salvation Army in the Taranaki Regions ministry
It is intended that
bi-monthly celebration services will be held for the region as well as
fellowship meetings at the local level being held regularly.
Later in the year it is planned to have a weekend wananga/workshop to
teach and develop Maori arts and crafts.
The intension of the fellowship is to encompass the culture of the Maori
people in their expression of the Christian Faith within the core values
of The Salvation Army.
The fellowship is not exclusive to Maori people or Salvationists or restricted
to any age but to is open too all those who are interested in utilizing
the fellowship as a tool for empowering evangelism and outreach in their
churches and communities.
